Elizabeth Ethridge
Hi, I am Elizabeth Ethridge. I am a native to Smyrna, TN and graduated from SHS in 2014. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Biology (Physiology) from MTSU and am a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer. I have developed a love for functional fitness after a hip injury ended my career aspirations in college. I found CrossFit shortly after that, finding strength I did not know I had pre-injury. Investing in myself through functional movements and strength training quite literally changed my life the past 6 years. Smyrna Strength and Fitness was born out of a desire to be a safe space for others to discover their own strength. We aim to improve the lives of our community one member at a time. We are glad you are here!
Kourtney Brownlow
Hi, I’m Kourtney Brownlow. I’ve been a gym owner for over 10 years, opening my first gym in Smyrna in 2014 with a simple goal: to help people become happier, healthier versions of themselves. With so many gyms to choose from, my vision has always been to create a safe space where everyone can feel empowered, no matter where they are in their personal journey. At Smyrna Strength and Fitness, we know that life isn’t easy, and committing to a healthy lifestyle can be one of the biggest challenges. As a wife and mom to four kids, I understand that balance is a tough ask. But I’ve learned that prioritizing my own well-being allows me to be the best version of myself for those I care about most. That’s the heart of what we do here-supporting you to take that next brave step toward your goals, no matter how big or small. Welcome to your hometown gym. We’re glad you’re here.
Heather Vonloh
Hi, I’m Heather Vonloh. I am a military widow and devoted mother of four. Originally from Nebraska, I relocated to Tennessee in March 2021. I have always had a passion for strength and resilience with a competitive spirit. In high school, I set 12 school records in two weight classes. I was inspired by my oldest daughter’s interest in wrestling and weight training to return to the gym and began working with a personal trainer. After two years of consistent training and personal growth, I developed the confidence and discipline to continue my fitness journey independently. I became a Personal Trainer 2023 so that I can help others grow stronger physically, mentally, and spiritually and step into the fullness of who God created them to be.
Kim Windle
Hi there! My name is Kim and I have lived in Smyrna for the last 6 years. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and I am also a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer. I found my love for fitness many years ago starting with running. I fell into CrossFit by accident about 10 years ago and haven’t looked back since! Most recently, I began coaching and I love helping others find that love for fitness; whether they are just trying to move or want to compete. At Smyrna Strength and Fitness, we can help any and all, to find their passion!

Hi, I’m Daniel Brownlow. I’ve been coaching for over 8 years, working with clients in both group classes and one-on-one personal training. As a husband and father of four, I understand the challenge of balancing family, work, and personal health. That’s why I’m passionate about helping people move better, get stronger, and maintain a high level of physical health throughout every stage of life.

As a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, Corrective Exercise Specialist, and dedicated coach with nearly a decade of experience, I’m driven by a singular mission: to help others become the strongest, healthiest versions of themselves—both inside and outside the gym.
My passion for fitness began during my military service, where I learned the value of resilience, discipline, and teamwork. That spirit carried into law enforcement and ultimately led me to coaching, where I found my purpose in serving others through fitness.
Over the past nine years, I’ve coached athletes of all backgrounds—from beginners to veterans—helping them move with purpose, train safely, and build lasting strength. With a foundation in CrossFit and corrective exercise, plus four years of nutrition coaching, I focus on sustainable progress and long-term success.
Whether it’s refining movement, building confidence, or fostering community, my mission is to educate, inspire, and empower.
Outside the gym, I serve in law enforcement, stay active outdoors, and support fellow veterans on their fitness journeys. If you’re ready to grow stronger and be part of something bigger, I’d be honored to coach you.
Michelle Hoback
Hi, I’m Michelle Hoback. I am a native of Middle Tennessee and have worked in the area as a physical therapist since completing my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Tennessee in 2020. I am licensed in the state of Tennessee and am also a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer. Shortly after having my first child in early 2023, I joined a gym with the goal of building the functional strength and energy required to be a mom as well as finding a community of health-minded individuals to support me. Since then, I have been able to be that community for others and have loved how the field of physical therapy melds with coaching to promote lifelong wellness.
